Synechron is hiring an immediate-start GIS Administrator for its Riyadh, Saudi Arabia location. This is a full-time onsite role suited to professionals with 6 to 14 years of relevant experience and availability within an immediate to 30-day notice period.

What You’ll Do

This role focuses on administering GIS databases built on ArcGIS Enterprise geodatabases along with the required database engine. The position involves improving performance across queries, CTEs, ETLs, Python processes, indexing, storage, and database health monitoring. It also includes managing backups, restore exercises, disk usage growth, security controls, troubleshooting operational incidents, coordinating patches and upgrades, supporting migrations, and automating routine database and GIS administration tasks.

Technical Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain GIS databases, including ArcGIS Enterprise geodatabase environments and the underlying database platform.
  • Improve system performance by tuning queries, CTEs, ETLs, Python jobs, indexes, storage, and overall database health.
  • Handle backup and recovery operations, including restore validation and space growth management.
  • Oversee access control, role assignments, permissions, and audit-related security activities.
  • Investigate and resolve operational issues such as locks, connectivity errors, failed jobs, and data-related problems.
  • Coordinate patching, upgrades, and deployment activities as part of planned maintenance.
  • Support database and schema migration work and verify changes after implementation.
  • Build automation for provisioning, backups, monitoring, and operational runbooks.
  • Introduce CI/CD practices or scheduled jobs to support database and GIS maintenance workflows.
  • Strengthen monitoring, alerting, dashboarding, and incident response processes.

Qualifications

Candidates should hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a closely related discipline.
