Role Summary
The school is looking for an organised, professional and approachable General Secretary to join its busy administrative team, with a start date of 24 August 2026. This role suits someone who thrives in a busy setting and enjoys delivering strong administrative and front-office support.
As one of the first people families, visitors and staff will meet, the successful candidate will help keep the school office running efficiently on a day-to-day basis.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a welcoming first contact for families, visitors and staff.
- Provide reliable administrative and customer service support to the school community.
- Help maintain smooth daily operations within the school office.
- Support the admin team in handling a busy and fast-paced workflow.
Required Experience and Skills
- Prior work in an administrative or secretarial position, preferably in a school or educational environment.
- Strong organisation and time-planning abilities, with confidence managing multiple priorities.
- Excellent spoken and written communication skills.
- A professional, friendly and accessible manner.
- Solid IT capability, including practical use of Google Workspace tools such as Docs, Sheets, Forms, Calendar and Drive.
- Careful attention to accuracy and detail.
- Ability to work on your own and also contribute effectively as part of a team.
- Consistent professionalism and respect for confidentiality.
- Arabic language ability is preferred but not mandatory.
Additional Requirements
- Educational certificates must be attested by a notary public and stamped by the Qatari Embassy in the country of issue, as well as by Qatar's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
- The school may request video interview questions, so candidates should monitor email regularly.
- Successful applicants must be willing to complete enhanced safeguarding checks.
- An ICPC (International Child Protection Certificate) or local national equivalent is required.
- Police clearance is needed for every country of residence during the past ten years.
- A copy of the applicant's birth certificate is required.
- If applicable, marriage certificate or deed poll documents must be provided for any name changes.
- The school may close the vacancy once enough applications are received to build a shortlist, so early submission is encouraged.
