Job description
Role Overview
This position is part of the production team and exists to help the business hit its daily output goals. The role reports to the Shift Supervisor and is centered on supporting efficient, safe, and high-quality manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute as a team member to meeting daily targets for output, waste, yield, efficiency, and start-up time.
- Keep production records up to date on the required forms at the specified intervals, including downtime, waste, process documentation, and non-conformance logs.
- Complete quality checks according to procedure and maintain full traceability in line with system requirements.
- Take care of all items assigned to the work area, such as production tools, probes, and machine parts, following metal and foreign matter control procedures; replace or report missing items when needed.
- Perform tasks that support food safety standards at all times.
- Keep the work area and equipment clean, orderly, safe, and hygienic.
- Run equipment only as trained and in line with approved standard operating procedures.
- Follow all hygiene and health & safety rules and instructions.
- Share ideas and practical suggestions to improve a changing production process.
- Work to the company’s quality standards and help ensure products are made and packed to customer and company specifications.
- Notify the line manager about any maintenance concerns as soon as they are identified.
- Coordinate with colleagues to make sure materials keep flowing to the line and avoid unnecessary stoppages.
- Remain adaptable so production demands are met, including supporting the line during breakdowns or other disruptions.
Skills, Qualifications and Experience
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well with others.
- Clear understanding of HACCP food safety principles and health & safety practices.
- High accuracy and strong attention to detail.
- Minimum 6 months of experience in an FMCG setting.
- Comfortable working effectively as part of a team.
- Flexible across different tasks and changing operational needs.
- Commercial awareness and an understanding of what needs to be done to support business success.
- Proactive mindset with the ability to anticipate issues and plan ahead.
- Very good written and spoken English.
