Role Overview
The General Ledger Accountant will support core accounting operations, with a focus on month-end closing, account analysis, reconciliations, reporting, and audit support. The role works closely with the accounting team and contributes to maintaining accurate books and financial records.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle monthly close tasks through Oracle NetSuite ERP.
- Support the accounting team in maintaining accurate bookkeeping and processing.
- Monitor and review daily accounting entries in Oracle NetSuite.
- Post journal entries for fixed assets, prepaid items, accruals, leases, provisions, and other adjustments or reclassifications.
- Prepare and validate reconciliations for related parties and intercompany balances.
- Assist in the preparation of trial balance reports and financial statements, including profit or loss, statement of financial position, and cash flow.
- Generate monthly revenue and expense reports, along with analytical summaries.
- Prepare ad hoc reports based on management requirements.
- Help develop and maintain written accounting policies and procedures.
- Support tax inspections in coordination with tax advisors.
- Take part in interim and annual audit activities.
- Investigate accounting issues and determine the correct treatment for transactions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
- At least 1 year of accounting experience, preferably in public accounting.
- IFRS certification or diploma is preferred.
- Strong command of Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel.
- Prior exposure to Oracle NetSuite is preferred.
- Knowledge of Power BI and SQL is preferred.
- Good presentation skills.
- Strong analytical ability for reviewing financial data.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work with diverse teams.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills in English.
- High attention to detail.
- Solid understanding of general ledger systems, accounting procedures, chart of accounts, and internal company processes.
