Role Overview
Wessuc is hiring an agriculture Field Operator for its land application season, which runs from April 1 to November 30. This role supports the land application team in the field and requires hands-on operation, monitoring, and upkeep of application equipment.
Key Duties
- Run pumps to move biosolids from tanker trailers into land application equipment.
- Control the biosolids transfer process so the flow remains steady, safe, and efficient.
- Stay in regular contact with supervisors, drivers, and management, sharing updates on application progress, equipment issues, and any concerns affecting the team.
- Perform routine upkeep on equipment such as pumps, hoses, and spreading systems.
- Inspect equipment frequently and resolve problems quickly to reduce the chance of breakdowns during application work.
Candidate Profile
The ideal applicant has 1 to 3 years of agriculture experience, along with a practical understanding of heavy equipment or tractor operation. A valid G or G2 driver’s licence with a clean driving abstract is required. Safety credentials such as Working at Heights and CPR are considered beneficial. The role also requires comfort using computers and software to read, record, and manage data.
This position may involve a changing schedule, including shifts longer than 12 hours and travel outside the local area.
