Role overview
Castelan is a nationwide furniture care and repair company known for helping customers restore both their furniture and their confidence. The business values skilled, hands-on technicians who take pride in producing quality work and delivering a positive customer experience.
This is a field-based position with coverage across Scotland. You will spend each day travelling to homes and workplaces to complete high-standard repairs on site.
What the role involves
- Inspect furniture in customers’ homes and workplaces and carry out repairs on upholstery, leather, wooden pieces and related items
- Identify faults accurately and complete repairs to a consistently high standard, with a focus on resolving issues during the first visit wherever possible
- Keep clear records and submit completed job information promptly and accurately
- Work independently while contributing ideas and feedback that support ongoing service improvement
- Encourage customers to consider care kits when suitable
- Look after your vehicle, tools and overall professional appearance
What the company is looking for
Applicants should be practical problem-solvers who are comfortable with hands-on repair work and committed to doing the job properly. Experience in furniture, wood or leather repair is preferred, along with confidence working face-to-face in customers’ properties and a professional approach at all times.
Required and preferred qualities
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Hold a full UK driving licence; up to 6 penalty points can be accepted
- Have practical repair experience, ideally with furniture, wood or leather
- Be comfortable working in customers’ homes and delivering excellent service
- Represent the company in a polished and professional manner
- Show strong attention to detail
- Communicate clearly and manage time effectively
- Take a proactive, solution-oriented approach
- Be willing to follow established processes while adapting to different situations
Pay and benefits
The salary for this position is £30,832.77 to £32,659.76, depending on experience. Pension is also provided.
