Job Summary

Cornerstone Health Center in Charlotte, NC is seeking a dedicated Functional Nutrition Coach to join our wellness team. This full-time, Monday-Friday position focuses on providing personalized nutrition and wellness care. The role involves crucial tasks such as preparing patient materials, managing lab orders, implementing protocols, and maintaining clear communication with patients to ensure a high standard of care and efficient clinic operations. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, possess a keen eye for detail, and have a genuine enthusiasm for functional nutrition.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare personalized nutrition and lab review protocols for patient appointments.
  • Organize and print all necessary documents and resources before patient consultations.
  • Assemble and prepare supplements for patients according to their prescribed protocols.
  • Facilitate the ordering of laboratory tests, verifying that orders align with individual patient care plans.
  • Process and file nutrition notes and forms into the patient's daily folder prior to appointments.
  • Configure Zoom for virtual appointments and distribute relevant protocols.
  • Conduct patient meetings to review lab results and discuss personalized protocols.
  • Explain nutrition plans and address any patient inquiries or concerns related to their health and wellness objectives.
  • Provide clear explanations of lab findings and their connection to the patient's treatment strategy.
  • Guide patients through dietary and supplemental recommendations, ensuring full comprehension of their protocol.
  • Address immediate patient concerns and clarify subsequent steps or necessary adjustments to their health plan.
  • Scan and record any modifications to a patient's protocol, ensuring accurate record-keeping.
  • Process payments and charges for supplements, maintaining precise transaction records.
  • Complete documentation and transfer patient files into daily folders.
  • Download and process lab orders, ensuring all information is accurately logged.
  • Manage patient email correspondence and respond to in-person or phone inquiries about nutrition and lab protocols.
  • Support lab audits and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to optimize service delivery.
  • Oversee the entire lab order process, including accurate payment, tracking, and documentation.
  • Collaborate with lab technicians to process and order tests as per patient care plans.
  • Ensure all lab results are uploaded to the correct folders and promptly inform patients to schedule review sessions.
  • Coordinate the scheduling of lab reviews and consultations, ensuring all patient information is systematically organized.
  • Communicate with patients to confirm lab review appointments, discuss any necessary adjustments, and maintain accurate appointment logs.

Qualifications

  • Possess a certification in Functional Nutrition Coaching or a comparable qualification.
  • Demonstrate a strong passion for and comprehensive understanding of functional nutrition and wellness methodologies.
  • Have prior experience in patient care, managing lab orders, and handling medical documentation.
  • Exhibit the ability to multitask effectively, maintain a high level of organization, and pay close attention to detail.
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, with proven experience in patient interaction.
  • Be proficient in standard office software, including Google Drive, and familiar with clinic management systems like ClinicMind, as well as lab management platforms.
