In this position, you will work under the supervision of a Licensed Optician and partner with both retail and clinical teams to help customers choose and maintain eyewear that suits their needs. The role combines customer service, optical dispensing support, product knowledge, and day-to-day store operations.
Key Responsibilities

- Use Specsavers digital tools to take accurate dispensing measurements and complete eyewear quality checks.
- Build and maintain strong product knowledge across frames, lenses, coatings, treatments, and current offers so customers can be well informed.
- Provide after-care support, including handling concerns and complaints through practical problem-solving.
- Assist with contact lens recommendations and promotional activity when directed by the Contact Lens Practitioner or Store Manager.
- Process third-party billing professionally while following applicable fee structures and agreements.
- Support and coach team members to strengthen their optical knowledge and professional capability.
- Help with daily store activities such as keeping the location clean, managing inventory, and maintaining brand and quality standards.
What We’re Looking For
- Enrollment in a post-secondary Opticianry program in the relevant province.
- At least 2 years of prior customer service experience, ideally in an optical dispensary setting.
- Ability to work effectively in a busy retail environment and stay organized under pressure.
- Flexibility and dependability to work retail hours.
- A friendly, outgoing, and confident approach, along with the ability to recommend products and styling options.
- Motivation to build long-term customer relationships and align with a customer experience model focused on lasting connections.
- Legal authorization to work in Canada, as immigration and permanent residency sponsorship are not available.
Benefits and Perks
- 3 weeks of paid vacation, prorated based on hours worked.
- 1 paid birthday leave day and 1 paid volunteer leave day each year.
- Annual vision care benefit of either 2 free pairs of glasses or a 12-month supply of contact lenses.
- 4 Friends & Family discount vouchers per year, each giving 25% off.
- Health and dental coverage beginning on the first day.
- Health Care Spending Account.
- Employee Assistance Program with confidential help for mental health, financial, and personal matters.
- Ongoing investment in career development and advancement.
