Role Summary
The Fairmont Washington, D.C., located in the West End of Washington, DC, is seeking a Front Desk Agent to join its Front Office team. This position is suited to hospitality professionals who enjoy creating excellent guest experiences and already have some front office exposure.
The Front Desk Agent is expected to deliver warm, courteous, and efficient service while managing guest interactions at the front desk and supporting smooth hotel operations.
Key Duties
- Manage guest arrivals and departures, including the full check-in and check-out process.
- Process cash and credit card payments accurately.
- Record transactions and keep guest accounts current and error-free.
- Support guests in person and over the phone.
- Handle reservation requests, bookings, and any special guest requirements when needed.
- Respond to guest messages and enquiries promptly and effectively.
- Ensure every guest is greeted with a friendly and welcoming first impression.
- Verify that guest reservations and profiles are accurate and up to date.
- Follow all standard operating procedures, hotel policies, and service standards.
- Take on additional tasks as assigned.

Working Conditions and Physical Demands
- The schedule must remain flexible, including weekends and holidays.
- The role requires long periods of standing, and may also involve sitting for extended periods.
- Physical tasks may include lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling items weighing up to 30 pounds.

The position offers an hourly pay range of $24.00 to $26.00.

Additional Requirements
Prior front office experience is preferred. A college or university degree in a related field is considered an advantage. Familiarity with property management systems, especially Opera, is also beneficial. The applicant must be legally eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.
