Role overview
For the new Doha office, the company is seeking a Freelance PR Director focused on tourism promotion, with responsibility for new business development in Qatar and broader activity across GCC and MENA markets.
Key responsibilities
- Support the marketing work of a prominent global tourism board and oversee all related tourism promotion activities.
- Design, assess, and refine communication and marketing strategies for international clients such as governments, tourism boards, companies, sports bodies, and associations.
- Expand mc Group’s presence in the Qatar market and actively drive new business opportunities, with additional attention on GCC and MENA.
- Provide strategic advice, prepare toolkits, and manage internal projects with a strong focus on strategic analysis and project delivery.
- Act as an external press contact by distributing press releases to both business and consumer audiences and maintaining communication with media outlets.
- Track and evaluate market developments in Qatar as well as the wider GCC and MENA region.
- Coordinate the team and brief specialist units such as media planning, PR, social media, events, and digital.
- Develop, review, and manage budgets while closely monitoring costs, items, and KPIs.
- Liaise with other departments to negotiate contracts and maintain regular contact with media partners and other distribution channels.
Profile and requirements
- Strong, persuasive, confident, and approachable communication style.
- Deep understanding of the PR and communications landscape in the target markets.
- Minimum of six years of professional experience.
- Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree.
- Ability to take ownership of responsibilities and work effectively with clients and external vendors.
- Excellent spoken and written English skills.
