Job description
Role overview
This Dublin-based PLC is hiring an FP&A Lead to establish a new standalone financial planning and analysis function. Reporting to the CFO, this is the first appointment in the area and is designed for a commercially minded finance professional who can help shape the team, influence strategy, and deliver valuable decision support at executive level. The business is known for its forward-looking finance operation and technology-led approach, and is expanding its footprint, creating room for future progression.
The role sits at the heart of long-term planning and business performance. It offers direct access to senior leadership, the opportunity to build an FP&A capability from the ground up, and the chance to play a major part in supporting growth and strategic initiatives.
Key responsibilities
- Take ownership of the FP&A agenda, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Create, maintain, and enhance financial models that support strategic and operational decisions.
- Translate financial analysis into practical insights and recommendations for senior management.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual management and financial reporting.
- Work closely with teams across the business to keep financial plans aligned with wider goals.
- Support mergers and acquisitions activity, including related integration work.
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of FP&A analysts.
- Improve FP&A processes, controls, and systems to increase efficiency and accuracy.
Candidate profile
The ideal candidate will bring experience from a large corporate, PLC, or multinational setting and be comfortable operating at a senior level. Strong Power BI capability is essential, along with the ability to build sophisticated financial models and communicate clearly to non-finance stakeholders. The role also requires a strategic outlook and the confidence to influence decision-makers.
Required qualifications and experience
- Professional accountancy or finance qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or CFA.
- Proven analytical ability and strong financial modelling expertise.
- Advanced working knowledge of Power BI.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Experience in a large corporate, PLC, or multinational environment.
- Ability to shape change and build a function that adds clear value to executive leadership.
Package and benefits
Salary is listed at €120,000 to €140,000, with bonus and benefits included.
