Job description

Role overview

Field Engineering groups across AWS are developing AI-powered ways of working to speed up investigations, automate repetitive tasks, improve reporting, and create scalable engineering tools. Rather than leaving these efforts scattered, the goal is to formalize what is effective and build dedicated AI integration capability into each regional Field Engineering organization.

This position is fully dedicated to AI integration for the assigned region. It sits inside the regional Field Engineering team and works closely with engineers and regional leaders to uncover high-impact opportunities, drive practical adoption of AI-enabled tooling, and turn successful experiments into repeatable standards. The role also collaborates with GenAI platform teams and internal tooling teams to deliver measurable productivity improvements.

This is a hands-on delivery role, not an advisory one. Performance will be evaluated by the workflows improved, engineering time saved, and the level of adoption achieved across the region.

What you will do

  • Work directly with regional Field Engineering teams to spot, rank, and accelerate the most valuable AI-driven workflow opportunities.
  • Promote the use of AI-assisted processes across investigations, reporting, operational analysis, and engineering tools in the assigned region.
  • Partner with Field Engineering engineers to replace manual work with reusable, scalable AI-based solutions.
  • Create and maintain reusable workflow models, templates, and lightweight playbooks that support regional adoption.
  • Coordinate with GenAI platform teams and internal tooling groups to move FE AI initiatives forward within approved environments.
  • Coach Field Engineering teams on practical, approved AI tools, including Python-based tooling, Kiro, and internal AI platforms.
  • Measure and communicate adoption data and operational KPIs to regional and senior Field Engineering leadership.
  • Find ways to remove duplicated effort and share reusable capabilities across regional Field Engineering teams.
  • Contribute learnings, patterns, and outcomes to the wider FE AI integration community across regions.
  • Support FE-led efforts such as waveform analytics, reporting automation, engineering tooling, and operational dashboards.

Day in the role

You will be embedded with the regional Field Engineering team, working alongside engineers during live investigations, building automation patterns, and helping individual contributors adopt new workflows. Much of your time will be spent identifying bottlenecks, prototyping AI-assisted solutions, and encouraging adoption of what proves effective.

You are expected to act as a dedicated member of the region, with accountability for making AI integration practical and measurable. The role calls for technical depth, operational curiosity, and a strong bias for action. You will iterate quickly, learn from your work, and share successful approaches with the broader FE AI integration network.

In this role, you will become the person your region turns to for making AI useful in day-to-day engineering work.

About the team

Field Engineering supports essential operational work across global AWS infrastructure. The organization spans multiple engineering disciplines and geographies, including operational investigations, electrical and mechanical systems, tooling development, reporting, commissioning, troubleshooting, operational analytics, and process improvement.

The team is actively building AI-enabled workflows to raise operational efficiency and speed up engineering execution. This role is one of the first three regional AI integration positions, created to validate the model and extend it across all Field Engineering regions.

Basic qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree or higher in ML Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, or another relevant technical field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • At least 3 years of experience in technical program management, workflow automation, or operational analytics.
  • Background working with GenAI platforms, agent-style tooling, or AI-enabled operational workflows.

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience in large-scale infrastructure, operational engineering, or data center environments.
  • Experience working closely with operational teams to drive hands-on workflow change.
  • Exposure to engineering investigations, reporting automation, or workflow acceleration programs.
  • Experience supporting the EMEA region and other global regions.
  • Proven ability to influence adoption and change in a technical team without direct authority.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain impact and progress clearly to engineers and leadership.

Eligibility and additional information

This opportunity is for UAE Nationals only. The role is based in Dubai, Dubai, United Arab Emirates, and is a full-time onsite position.
