Role Overview
This full-time regular position is based at the Statesboro Campus in Statesboro, Georgia, within the Custodial Operations department. The role is responsible for keeping carpeted and hard flooring areas clean and well maintained across the university, along with carrying out preventive upkeep on specialized floor-care equipment.

Key Duties
- Clean and maintain all types of flooring, including carpeted areas and hard surfaces, with tasks such as stripping and waxing as needed.
- Carry out preventive maintenance on floor-care machines and related equipment.
- Use cleaning chemicals and supplies in line with established procedures.
- Operate, care for, and safely maintain equipment used in the job.
- Follow university policies, departmental guidelines, and applicable state and federal rules.
- Adhere to all safety standards and risk-management practices while working.
- Identify and report safety concerns or hazards promptly.
- Inform the appropriate authorities when emergency corrective action is needed.
- Complete assigned tasks within required timeframes.
- Support and advance the institution’s mission, vision, and values through daily work.
Required Background
- A high school diploma or an equivalent credential is required.
- At least one year of relevant work experience is required.

Work Conditions and Additional Details
This is a non-exempt role paid on a biweekly schedule. The workweek may occasionally go beyond 40 hours and may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays. Travel may be required. The role may involve handling items up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation. Day-to-day work may require standing, bending, walking, lifting, reaching above shoulder level, and occasionally stooping, kneeling, or crouching. Work may also involve exposure to harsh conditions, including extreme temperatures and inclement weather. The position is described as requiring the ability to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
