Job description

Role overview

Provincial Sprinkler Company, part of Johnson Controls, is a Cork-based specialist supplying fire sprinkler solutions to clients in pharma, healthcare, industrial, food, and commercial environments throughout Ireland. As demand for its services continues to rise, the team is hiring a Sprinkler Systems Service Inspector to support new projects.

What you will do

In this position, you will inspect and service sprinkler systems across a wide mix of customers, including commercial, industrial, public sector, and blue-chip sites. The role calls for a strong work ethic, a commitment to high-quality service, active attention to health and safety, and a focus on going beyond customer expectations.

Working approach

  • Carry out servicing and inspection work on fire sprinkler pipework systems in large industrial facilities.
  • Check and maintain plant equipment such as fire pumps, valves, and pumphouse piping.
  • Support a strong safety culture and encourage safe working practices on site.
  • Deliver a consistently high standard of customer service.

Required background

The preferred candidate will have prior experience in service engineering or facilities management. Experience with sprinkler or water suppression systems is an advantage, and a background in mechanical or electrical engineering, facilities, sprinklers, or fire suppression equipment would be beneficial. Candidates with valid Safe Pass, Manual Handling, Working at Height, and MEWP training will have an added advantage.

Location preference

The employer would ideally like applicants who are based in Cork, Tipperary, Waterford, Limerick, or Kerry.

Essential qualities

  • Practical experience in service engineering or facilities management.
  • Understanding of mechanical systems and how they operate.
  • Experience working safely across different site environments.
  • Clear communication skills.
  • Good timekeeping and organisational ability.
  • Comfortable using computers and writing reports.

Benefits

The company offers a supportive culture that values work-life balance, ongoing learning and development, access to mental health support, and a strong overall benefits package.
