Job description
Role Overview
This position supports the financial planning, controlling, and analysis work for the Canada Retail Brick & Mortar channel. The focus is on producing management-ready reports, spotting variances and trends, improving data accuracy, and keeping financial records up to date.
Key Responsibilities
- Track and control retail operating expenses to ensure spending stays aligned with budgets and financial plans.
- Compare actual costs with forecasts, investigate differences, and prepare clear explanations for variances.
- Build and maintain financial reports for management and business partners, with accurate data, trend insights, and suggestions for forecast updates.
- Carry out one-off financial analyses to support day-to-day business needs and reporting requirements.
- Work closely with managers and cross-functional teams to highlight discrepancies, discuss operating trends, and share insights that help improve forecast quality and expense control.
- Enter OPEX data accurately for monthly forecasts and budgets while maintaining detailed tracking in line with financial standards.
- Partner with Accounting on accruals, reconciliations, and expense postings related to retail operating expenses.

Skills and Abilities
- Strong analytical thinking with the ability to identify patterns, exceptions, and forecast implications.
- Excellent attention to detail for data entry, reporting, and variance review.
- Advanced Excel capability for analysis, tracking, and reporting.
- Solid grasp of accounting principles, financial controls, and accurate data handling.
- Good organization and multitasking skills to manage several priorities at once.
- Clear verbal and written communication for presenting findings and working with business partners.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a closely related discipline.
- 2–3 years of experience in finance or accounting, ideally in a retail setting.
- Advanced Excel skills are required; exposure to SAP, TM1, or similar platforms is an advantage.
- Strong finance and accounting background with a focus on controlling and data integrity.
Compensation and Benefits
The base salary range for this role is CAD 80,000 to CAD 100,000 annually. Final pay will depend on experience, qualifications, skills, competencies, and role fit.

Work Arrangement and Location
This role follows a hybrid schedule: in-office attendance is required Monday through Thursday, with the option to work remotely on Friday. For meetings or presentations that require in-person collaboration, Friday office attendance may also be needed. The position is based in Woodbridge, Ontario, Canada. English is the working language for the team.
