Role summary
McAfee is hiring a Finance Business Analyst in Waterloo, Ontario. The position blends financial planning, performance analysis, and executive-facing reporting to help senior finance leaders make faster and more informed decisions. The role works closely with teams across retention, acquisition, and data analytics to turn business results into clear, decision-ready insights.
This is a hybrid role based in the Waterloo office. When you are not working onsite, you will work from your home office. Candidates must live within commuting distance of Waterloo, and relocation support is not available for this position.
What you will do
- Own forecasting activities and convert annual objectives into practical daily and weekly performance projections and insights.
- Analyze performance on a daily basis, identify what is driving variances, and surface risks, opportunities, and ad hoc findings related to acquisition and retention.
- Develop and maintain analytical models and frameworks that improve visibility into detailed business segments.
- Use modern AI tools and models to strengthen reporting, analysis, and financial modeling outcomes.
- Monitor business initiatives by timing, channel, source, and estimated financial contribution.
- Partner with marketing, data analytics, pricing, and other internal teams to influence results and support the business proactively.
What we are looking for
- At least 3 years of experience in financial analysis, FP&A, business operations, analytics, or a similar function.
- A BA, BS, or BBA in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Analytics, Mathematics, Statistics, or another quantitative discipline is preferred; an MBA, MA, or MS is an advantage.
- Strong Excel and financial modeling capability, along with comfort using Copilot or similar AI tools such as Claude or ChatGPT in business settings.
- Hands-on experience with forecasting, planning, variance analysis, initiative sizing, and business performance tracking.
- Ability to use SQL, Alteryx, or comparable tools to extract and analyze data.
- Strong analytical reasoning and experience working with large data sets.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills with a polished, professional style.
- Ability to work both independently and across teams to investigate issues and solve problems.
- High attention to detail, reliability under recurring deadlines, and a strong sense of ownership.
- Collaborative mindset with the confidence to work autonomously when needed.
