Role overview

The Field Service Technician is responsible for providing dependable service and technical support for process instrumentation. The position covers on-site installation within permitted limits, calibration, commissioning, repairs, fault-finding, and customer support and training. Strong technical ability, clear communication, and a commitment to continuous improvement are essential. A key measure of performance is helping grow the business through proactive, professional customer interaction.

Key duties

  • Make sure all equipment is handled safely during work and left in a condition that is safe for customer use.
  • Prepare service reports promptly and complete the SalesForce work-order steps accurately so invoices can be issued without delay.
  • Handle Smart Support cases and communicate through Vonnage, the cloud communications platform used for support.
  • Deliver customer training on the use, servicing, and operation of Endress+Hauser products and tools.
  • Keep spare parts stocked and maintained in the service vehicle.
  • Record and pass on customer feedback, sales leads, and training opportunities using SalesForce and direct communication with the line manager and other relevant colleagues.
  • Take responsibility for personal learning and development through internal and overseas training options.
  • Work in line with health and safety policies and procedures at all times.
  • Perform additional duties that match your skills and experience and support the ongoing development of the role and service team.

Candidate profile

The ideal applicant should have at least a trade certificate in Electrical & Instrumentation and relevant hands-on experience with industrial instrumentation. Mechanical and/or electrical skills are a plus.

You should be an effective communicator with strong customer service abilities and the confidence to explain information clearly and concisely. A structured, solution-focused approach is important, along with a positive attitude toward challenges and service improvement. The role also calls for close collaboration with sales colleagues and comfort working in changing environments with shifting priorities and technologies.
