Role summary
Rapiscan Systems is hiring Field Service Technicians for work in Qiddiya City, Saudi Arabia. The role focuses on delivering Level 1 and Level 2 technical support for cargo and vehicle inspection equipment, including troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of complex X-ray scanning systems. You will also assist Level 3 Field Service Engineers in day-to-day site operations.
Key responsibilities
The technician will carry out hands-on field support for CVI systems and related subsystems, with work covering mechanical, electrical, and software elements. The position also involves fault finding, escalation of complex issues, installation support, and completion of service records and compliance documentation.
Job duties
- Carry out Level 1 and Level 2 servicing, fault diagnosis, and repairs on Cargo Vehicle Inspection systems and subsystems as assigned by the Field Service Engineer.
- Investigate, isolate, and fix technical problems to keep equipment downtime as low as possible and maintain stable system performance.
- Complete both preventive and corrective maintenance work as needed.
- Prepare clear verbal and written updates when escalating more advanced issues to engineering or site support teams.
- Support installation crews during deployment, including equipment setup, configuration, and initial testing.
- Maintain accurate service records, such as daily and weekly reports, logs, and entries in internal systems and reporting platforms.
- Follow company, customer, and regulatory safety requirements at all times while working on site.
- Support the daily work of Level 3 Field Service Engineers.
Candidate profile
The ideal candidate has prior hands-on experience in field service or in the maintenance and repair of different types of products. This role suits someone comfortable working independently in difficult or remote environments, while also being effective in a team setting. Experience in an electrical or mechanical discipline is important. Prior field service delivery experience is helpful, though full training can be provided to the right person. Arabic language ability and IPAF manlift training are both considered advantages. An engineering degree is preferred.
Additional information
This is a full-time role based in Saudi Arabia, with work expected on site in Qiddiya City. The role includes practical use of power tools and hand tools.
