About the role
This role is for a Field Engineer who will work closely with prospective and strategic enterprise customers. You will represent the company as the technical point of contact in customer conversations, help teams assess Cursor, guide proof-of-concept work, and make sure customers understand how AI can improve their engineering processes.
You will collaborate closely with Sales, Product, and Engineering to define solutions, deliver demonstrations, and act as a reliable advisor for technical stakeholders. The position is highly customer-facing and requires a blend of strong technical knowledge and clear communication to support adoption and help shape the product direction.
Key responsibilities
- Work with Account Executives to run technical discovery sessions, product demos, and proof-of-concept projects.
- Develop trusted relationships with engineering managers, architects, and developers by serving as their technical advisor.
- Convert customer needs into practical solution designs, including recommendations for rollout strategy, prompt usage, and context setup.
- Create and present technical talks, whiteboard discussions, and hands-on workshops tailored to each customer’s needs.
- Represent customer feedback internally, help influence product priorities, and escalate important insights to Product and Engineering teams.
- Partner with post-sales teams to support a smooth transition and successful customer onboarding.
- Stay current on the product’s features and the competitive market so you can clearly communicate its value.
- Support strategic account planning and contribute to expansion opportunities through technical validation.
Requirements
- Strong communication skills and executive presence, with comfort both in hands-on coding discussions and in front of senior leaders such as CTOs.
- Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle, modern engineering team structures, and developer productivity challenges.
- Practical technical ability, including fluency with technical workflows, AI tools, and troubleshooting complex environments.
- A customer-first mindset with the ability to translate technical details into business outcomes.
- Experience in Field Engineering, Solutions Architecture, Pre-Sales, or Consulting in enterprise software.
- Ability to work well in a startup environment that demands initiative, flexibility, and resourcefulness.
