Fiber Optic Splicing Technician (Experienced)

About the Role

Celerity Integrated Services, a telecommunications and construction firm located in Quakertown, PA, is hiring a full-time Fiber Optic Splicing Technician with prior experience. The company offers free health insurance to all full-time employees.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Work with a range of fiber optic splice enclosures and termination panels.
• Prepare and splice multiple cable types, including OSP, ADSS, and OPGW fiber.
• Perform testing on fiber optic systems and infrastructure.
• Use OTDR tools, power meters, and fiber identifiers for diagnostic work.
• Identify faults, errors, and other issues, then troubleshoot accordingly.
• Install equipment according to project scope and job requirements.
• Adhere to safety standards and follow company procedures at all times.
• Work cooperatively as part of a team and support a collaborative environment.
• Complete daily performance reports accurately and in the required format.
• Remain available for on-call assignments when needed.

Qualifications and Experience

• High school diploma or an equivalent credential is required.
• A valid Pennsylvania driver’s license is mandatory.
• Ability to identify differences between wire and cable colors is necessary.
• Applicants should have 0 to 1 year of experience in outside plant fiber optic fusion splicing and testing, or comparable training and hands-on experience.
• Working knowledge of fiber cable systems, construction, and handling is considered an advantage.
• Basic understanding of electrical processes is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail is essential.
• Good written and spoken communication skills are needed.
• Comfort with computers and Microsoft Office is expected.
• Candidates must provide and keep current their own auto insurance.

Working Conditions

This role may involve overtime, flexible shifts, and weekend work. It also requires physically demanding tasks such as lifting equipment weighing more than 75 pounds, climbing poles, working at heights, and entering tight spaces. The job additionally requires the ability to distinguish colors and shades.

Schedule and Travel

This is a full-time position with an on-call schedule that may include weekends and holidays. Overtime and overnight work may be required based on business needs. Travel is required as needed, including overnight stays when necessary.
