Role overview
Zurich Insurance Europe AG, Ireland Branch is seeking a Farms Business Development Executive to join its team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. The position supports nine business development managers and the Head of Farm Sales in growing Zurich’s share of the farm insurance market.
This role can be considered on either a part-time or full-time basis. Zurich is open to discussing flexibility during the interview process.
Key responsibilities
- Partner with business development managers to shape and execute an effective farm sales plan.
- Handle referrals, urgent questions, and management information reporting in collaboration with Dairygold, ICMSA, and FDC.
- Provide day-to-day support to customers.
- Contact all referrals within the agreed service-level timelines.
- Explain the farm and related products available to prospective customers.
- Support the farm business development team in delivering the gross written premium plan.
- Keep key reporting information accurately updated in Salesforce.
- Attend events and travel when needed.
- Work closely with business development managers to deepen Zurich’s relationships across the farming sector.
- Assist colleagues and help the wider team achieve shared goals.
- Contribute to clear and effective communication across the team.
- Question underwriters where risk appetite needs to be challenged.
- Collaborate with the personal lines motor and household teams to help secure overall accounts.
- Prepare timely management statistics covering referrals, quotes, bound cases, gross written premium, and conversion rates for key account contacts and internal leaders.
- Track renewal book performance and work cross-functionally where required.
- Escalate significant renewal-related issues early and act proactively to reduce business impact.
Experience and qualifications
- Minimum of two honours at Higher Level in the Leaving Certificate, or an equivalent qualification, or a third-level qualification.
- CIP is preferred.
- Sales acquisition experience is an advantage.
- Strong commercial judgement and a professional approach to business relationships.
- Good understanding of insurance product lines.
- Strong project management capability.
Additional information
The main work location is Wexford, with occasional travel to other Zurich locations as required.
