This is a practical, hands-on position centered on cleaning, kitchen assistance, and day-to-day upkeep of shared spaces. The role helps keep the workplace safe, tidy, hygienic, and pleasant for everyone.
The facilities team works behind the scenes to support the wider business by maintaining cleanliness, functionality, and general presentation across the site. The group values dependability, collaboration, and a strong eye for detail.
What the role involves
In this position, you will be responsible for keeping work areas and communal spaces clean and orderly, while also helping with food preparation and kitchen routines. You will play an important part in making sure the environment remains well maintained and ready for daily use.
During the first few weeks, you will learn the cleaning schedules, kitchen processes, and health and safety expectations. You will work with experienced colleagues to understand the systems and ways of working used across the facilities team.
As you become settled in, you will also look for ways to improve standards and efficiency, including suggesting better approaches to cleaning routines and helping ensure the kitchen and shared areas consistently meet a high standard.
Key duties
- Keep all facilities clean and hygienic to a consistently high standard.
- Help the kitchen team with daily tasks and basic food preparation.
- Support a safe and well-organised workplace that allows other teams to work effectively.
- Carry out regular cleaning of offices, shared areas, washrooms, and kitchen spaces.
- Prepare ingredients by washing, peeling, chopping, and portioning items as needed.
- Clean and sanitise kitchen tools, equipment, and work surfaces in line with health and safety rules.
- Use dishwashers or wash crockery, cookware, and utensils by hand when required.
- Take delivery of stock, check items, store them correctly, and follow stock rotation practices.
- Escalate hazards, faults, or maintenance concerns to the Facilities Manager without delay.
Skills and experience
Ideal applicants will have some experience in cleaning, kitchen support, or facilities work. A basic understanding of food preparation and kitchen hygiene is important.
You should be able to take instructions well, manage priorities, and stay productive in a busy environment. The role also calls for reliability, strong attention to detail, pride in maintaining standards, and a friendly, team-oriented attitude.
Equal opportunities
Vintage Trading Limited aims to create an inclusive workplace where people feel respected, valued, and able to be themselves. The company welcomes candidates from all backgrounds and believes diversity supports innovation and success.
Applicants are encouraged to apply even if they do not meet every requirement, as their experience and strengths may still be a strong fit now or in the future. Support and reasonable adjustments can be discussed if needed during the hiring process.
