About the Role

Cottee Parker Architects is a respected, design-focused practice working on a broad mix of projects, including hospitality, commercial, multi-residential, luxury residential, and retail developments. The team is looking for an experienced Architectural Technician or a Graduate of Architecture with solid exposure to Australian architectural projects to join either the Gold Coast or Brisbane studio.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create precise Revit drawings, models, and schedules.
  • Check documentation thoroughly before passing it to the Project Leader for sign-off.
  • Coordinate consultant contributions and project documentation efficiently across all stages.
  • Support the Project Leader in meetings with clients, consultants, and authorities to help progress the project and secure approvals.
  • Work with certifiers and other relevant authorities during the approval process.
  • Help the Project Leader review project outputs and apply feedback quickly.
  • Carry out site inspections to collect information and confirm existing conditions accurately.
  • Assist with identifying and resolving architectural defects and site issues.
  • Work alongside architects and interior designers within agreed project responsibilities.
  • Help develop documentation programs that align with fee arrangements and assist in managing timelines, budgets, and resources.
  • Escalate any risks affecting program delivery or budget.
  • Record important project decisions and keep documentation well organised and easy to access.
  • Investigate materials and construction approaches to ensure alignment with client agreements, codes, and consultant inputs.
  • Apply the practice’s Quality Management System and ensure records and documentation meet compliance requirements.
  • Maintain a strong focus on detail and follow the firm’s documentation and quality standards.
  • Keep project files accurate, complete, and orderly.

Technical Knowledge and Skills

  • Good understanding of Australian documentation standards and construction practices.
  • Strong technical capability in architectural drawing and documentation.
  • Clear communication and effective project coordination skills.
  • Ongoing development of knowledge around building codes, materials, and construction methods through research and practical application.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Architecture, Diploma of Building Design, Advanced Diploma of Building Design, or an equivalent qualification from a recognised institution.

Experience and Eligibility

  • A relevant qualification in Architecture, Building Design, or Architectural Technology from a recognised institution is required.
  • Candidates applying as a Graduate of Architecture should be eligible for registration as an Architect in Australia.
  • At least 5 years of experience working on Australian architectural projects is required.
  • Strong technical ability in architectural documentation and construction methods is essential.
  • Advanced Revit skills are required.
  • Excellent communication and coordination abilities are expected.
