Job description
Position summary
The Trade Executive for COC (Carrier Owned Container) plays a key role in improving service usage and commercial outcomes by managing container capacity and slot allocation effectively. The position is centered on lifting load factors, improving yield, and using data to support trade and network decisions.
Key responsibilities
- Work under the Trade Manager - COC and manage the assigned services efficiently.
- Build voyage-based allocation plans for designated areas and aim to sustain 100% loading levels.
- Optimize allocation usage across TEU and tonnage to drive stronger profitability.
- Handle slot control activities with external partners, including buying and selling slots where required.
- Assist with weekly and monthly reporting for the COC Yield and Capacity Manager, highlighting service performance and trends.
- Collect and interpret market data from internal and external sources to support Minimum Rate Guideline (MRG) decisions that improve yield.
- Contribute to monthly or quarterly MRG setting using cost inputs, margin targets, competitor pricing, and historical cargo patterns.
- Help ensure MRG updates are coordinated with SOC (Shipper Owned Container) so internal undercutting is avoided.
Qualifications and experience
- A diploma or degree in Logistics, Shipping, Transportation, or a similar field is required.
- Applicants should have around 2 to 3 years of experience in container shipping.
- Strong analytical thinking and a structured, efficient working style are important.
