Job description
Role Overview
This position focuses on planning production for one or more product lines while making sure material flow remains steady and sufficient to support the manufacturing schedule. The role also carries responsibility for helping the business meet customer delivery dates within practical lead times.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop production plans for one or several products.
- Work to keep material availability aligned with the production schedule.
- Support timely delivery to customers based on requested shipment dates and realistic lead times for the relevant product lines.
- Partner with Sales Administration to confirm machine shipment commitments that align with customer delivery requirements.
- Coordinate successful MRP execution after each plan release for the assigned product lines.
- Align material planning with the approved production plan and sales forecast.
- Ensure sufficient material order quantities are placed within the required lead time to support production needs.
- Follow up closely with Purchasing and suppliers so material deliveries arrive on time and production flow remains uninterrupted.
- Review planning settings regularly to improve inventory holding levels and inventory turnover.
- Carry out inventory analysis to maintain healthy stock levels.
- Track work orders and job orders to make sure they are closed on schedule.
- Coordinate engineering changes with minimal waste and ensure changes are implemented into production effectively.
- Prepare month-end reporting on machine completion status.
- Support and complete annual year-end physical inventory activities.
- Supervise the assigned team to drive performance and meet objectives.
- Lead digital transformation initiatives that improve processes and raise productivity.
Qualifications and Experience
- A diploma or degree in Manufacturing, Production Engineering, or a related field is required.
- At least 5 years of relevant work experience is expected.
- Practical experience using MRP systems, especially SAP, and a good understanding of how the system operates.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving ability.
- Prior management experience is preferred.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to guide and motivate a team.
- Experience in precision manufacturing will be considered an advantage.
