Sports & Entertainment is a specialist practice within WPP Media that develops brand partnerships, sponsorships, branded entertainment, and socially led content solutions. Role Overview
This is an entry-to-mid-level position for someone who wants to grow in sports and entertainment media. The role supports the everyday delivery, planning, and coordination of creative content and partnership-based solutions for a defined set of clients.
Reporting to a Manager or Associate Director in Development, you will work across the point where brands, culture, and media meet. Your work will include coordinating campaign activity, supporting brainstorming sessions, handling client requests, and making sure the operational side of partnerships runs smoothly and professionally.
Client Servicing and Account Coordination
- Help manage client accounts on a daily basis, making sure requests are handled promptly, professionally, and with accuracy.
- Support the team in creating client-ready materials such as status updates, meeting agendas, and campaign deck refreshes.
- Serve as a dependable contact for routine admin support and help maintain strong working relationships with both clients and internal teams.
Creative and Content Support
- Join creative brainstorms and bring in relevant, culturally informed ideas for briefs covering sponsorships, influencer activity, experiential work, and TV or digital partnerships.
- Assist in preparing pitch materials, proposals, and short creative summaries for senior review.
- Stay informed about culture, new talent, and media developments, and share useful observations that can support stronger creative thinking.
Campaign Planning and Delivery
- Support the full delivery process for partnership campaigns, including timing, coordination, and logistical follow-through.
- Work with media owners, rights holders, and production partners to collect assets, plan delivery schedules, and monitor live campaign activity.
- Help compile performance evidence, screenshots, and results data for post-campaign reports that demonstrate campaign impact and return on investment.
Commercial and Operational Administration
- Learn the team’s internal processes, booking tools, and financial systems, and use them correctly in day-to-day work.
- Assist with supplier setup, purchase order processing, and billing tracking so that financial administration stays accurate and on schedule.
Teamwork and Collaboration
- Work closely with colleagues across Sports & Entertainment and related specialist teams to support joined-up campaign delivery.
- Take part in team meetings and share lessons, observations, and ideas from active campaigns.
- Use WPP tools and media platforms, including WPP Open where relevant, to help improve efficiency in daily tasks.
Core Capabilities
- Communicates clearly and confidently in both written and spoken form, including emails, slide content, and meeting notes.
- Organizes tasks well, manages time effectively, and pays close attention to detail when handling admin, reporting, and client materials.
- Builds positive working relationships with internal teams and external partners such as media owners, talent, and rights holders.
- Shows genuine enthusiasm for sport, entertainment, gaming, music, and creator culture, and uses that interest to fuel ideas.
- Approaches work with initiative, flexibility, and a practical mindset when priorities change quickly.
- Is willing to learn campaign and media systems such as Media Explorer, Prisma, AURA, WPP Open, or similar platforms.
Experience and Skills
- Some experience supporting the delivery of marketing, social, or partnership campaigns.
- Strong interest in branded entertainment, sport, and cultural marketing.
- Confident written, verbal, and presentation skills, with PowerPoint or Keynote ability preferred.
- A collaborative attitude and a desire to keep learning in a fast-moving agency setting.
