Role overview
This part-time entry-level business analyst position is based in Melbourne, Victoria, and offers a hybrid working arrangement with time split between the office and home. The role supports the assessment and improvement of health programs by collecting, recording, and interpreting business needs raised by internal teams.
What you will do
- Work with internal stakeholders to gather, structure, and document business requirements.
- Review existing workflows and help map how processes currently operate.
- Assist with collecting data and carrying out simple analysis to support decisions.
- Prepare reports and presentations that help explain findings and guide next steps.
- Contribute to recommendations aimed at improving workflows, program outcomes, and stakeholder experience.
- Partner with cross-functional teams and keep documentation accurate and easy to follow.
- Ensure requirements and process changes remain aligned with broader organisational objectives.
Qualifications
- Solid analytical thinking and the ability to spot patterns, interpret information, and turn it into practical insights.
- Some background in business analysis, including familiarity with requirements collection and documentation.
- Understanding of business processes, with interest in mapping, improving, and refining them.
- Good communication skills and the confidence to work with different stakeholders and explain findings clearly.
- Basic knowledge of business requirements and how to convert them into clear specifications.
- A relevant tertiary qualification in Business, Health Administration, Information Systems, or a similar area, or progress toward one.
- Comfort using everyday productivity and collaboration tools such as spreadsheets, documents, presentation software, and online communication platforms.
- Interest in healthcare or public health, along with a willingness to learn about health program delivery and evaluation.
