Role Overview
Lovisa Pty Ltd is looking for an experienced Employee Relations Specialist to join its People & Culture team in Los Angeles, California. The position supports a busy, multi-location retail business with operations across the United States, Puerto Rico, Canada, and Mexico. The main focus of the role is to help maintain a workplace that is respectful, equitable, and aligned with applicable employment laws.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle employee relations matters from the first intake point through final resolution for Retail, Warehouse, and Support Center employees.
- Carry out prompt, unbiased, and detailed workplace investigations in coordination with Legal and internal Investigations teams.
- Work with Legal and HR leadership on complex, high-sensitivity, and elevated-risk employee relations issues.
- Prepare clear documentation of investigation outcomes, case details, and recommended next steps in line with policy and legal direction.
- Guide managers on performance management, corrective action processes, and employee engagement practices.
- Apply company policies consistently and fairly across all locations.
- Keep case records accurate, complete, and confidential within HR and case management systems.
- Help respond to unemployment claims and provide supporting records when required.
- Spot recurring issues and collaborate with HR leadership on proactive improvements that strengthen culture and lower risk.
- Make sure employee relations practices follow employment law and internal compliance expectations.
Requirements
- At least 3 to 6 years of experience in Employee Relations, HR Generalist, or HR Operations roles.
- Sound understanding of employment law, workplace investigation methods, and standard HR practices.
- Background in retail, warehouse/distribution, or other multi-site environments is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated experience working with Legal teams and leading workplace investigations.
- Excellent communication, written documentation, and conflict-resolution abilities.
- Ability to handle sensitive, private matters with tact and professionalism.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capability.
- Familiarity with HRIS platforms and case management tools is preferred.

This role is based onsite in Torrance, California, and is part of a fast-moving retail organization with operations spanning multiple countries and regions. The work involves close collaboration with HR, Legal, and Investigations partners to reduce organizational risk and support a compliant employee experience.
