Role Summary
The HR Manager for Employee Relations will lead efforts around workplace relations, union engagement, employee grievances, and labor law compliance. The role suits an experienced HR professional who can manage industrial disputes, strengthen employee trust, and support a respectful and productive workplace. The successful candidate will help improve employee satisfaction, retention, and overall organizational performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and roll out HR initiatives that strengthen employee relations and improve workplace conditions.
- Lead discussions with trade unions, manage complaints, and resolve disagreements to maintain industrial peace.
- Monitor employee feedback, identify reasons for attrition, and support actions that improve satisfaction and retention.
- Compile in-depth turnover analysis and recommend practical measures to address underlying issues.
- Set up effective communication channels between staff and management to encourage openness and cooperation.
- Review employee sentiment and patterns to spot opportunities for better engagement and stronger relations.
- Maintain adherence to labor legislation and HR compliance requirements to reduce legal exposure.
- Develop strong working relationships with employees and leadership while resolving conflicts and improving workplace harmony.
Qualifications & Experience
- A master’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Law, Psychology, or a closely related discipline.
- At least 5 years of experience in an HR management position, ideally within manufacturing or an industrial setting.
- Demonstrated strength in employee relations, collective bargaining, and labor dispute resolution.
- Background in managing workforce issues and implementing employee retention approaches.
Skills & Competencies
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive HR matters with sound judgment and professionalism.
- Working knowledge of labor regulations and HR compliance standards.
- Proven capability in mediating disputes and resolving grievances.
- Analytical thinking for reviewing HR data, trends, and reporting insights.
