Job description
Job Summary
This role is suited to someone with hands-on CCTV and security systems experience, especially in installation, repair, replacement, and ongoing maintenance of related equipment. The technician will work under the general direction of the Project Engineer and may also be expected to carry out skilled support tasks such as light carpentry and drilling when required.
Responsibilities
- Install security system components, units, and printed circuit boards by following the Project Engineer’s instructions, including items such as cameras, motion detectors, and electronic locks.
- Lay and terminate structured cabling for systems such as CCTV, access control, and intrusion detection.
- Carry out installation and servicing work for intrusion alarms, CCTV, and access control solutions in commercial properties as well as premium residential settings.
- Travel to client locations and complete installation and service assignments on site.
- Work effectively on your own while also contributing as part of a team.
- Stay organised, manage multiple tasks, and handle shifting priorities efficiently.
- Communicate clearly in both spoken and written form.
- Use testing instruments such as a digital multimeter to measure and verify voltage and other electrical readings.
- Operate hand tools and compact power tools, including drills, screwdrivers, and cutters.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, datasheets, and written work instructions.
- Use initiative to fabricate parts and cables when needed so that installations are completed successfully.
- Coordinate closely with the Project Engineer throughout the project.
- Follow standard safety procedures and common workplace safety practices.
Requirements
- Background in CCTV and related security systems, including installation and maintenance work.
- At least 2 years of experience in a security services company.
- Ability to perform skilled field work, including drilling and minor carpentry as needed.
- Practical knowledge of basic electronics and security systems such as IP surveillance, intrusion detection, access control, or electronic power supplies is an advantage.
- Strong troubleshooting ability and comfort working with test equipment.
- Ability to work independently, stay organised, and manage multiple tasks.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Capable of reading technical documents and installation instructions.
- Comfortable using hand tools and small power tools.
- UAE driving licence is considered an advantage.
- High school education is the minimum academic requirement.
- IT diploma certification will be an added advantage.
Additional Information
The job is based in Dubai and is a full-time onsite position. The selected candidate will work under general supervision and will be expected to support project execution across different customer locations as needed.
Knowledge of basic electronics, security system concepts, and fabrication skills will be helpful in performing the role effectively.
