This position is centered on electrical and instrumentation installation, testing, calibration, and pre-commissioning work, always aligned with project requirements and safety expectations. Prior exposure to Schneider Foxboro DCS and Triconex ESD systems will be a strong plus.

Key Deliverables

  • Install field instrumentation such as transmitters, control valves, actuators, flow elements, level devices, and analysers based on hook-up drawings and project specifications.
  • Carry out electrical work including cable pulling, terminations, panel wiring, earthing, and lighting-related installations.
  • Calibrate a broad range of process instruments, including pressure, temperature, flow, and level transmitters, using suitable calibration equipment.
  • Execute loop checks between field devices and control systems such as DCS, ESD, and F&G, including work connected to Schneider Foxboro DCS and Triconex ESD systems.
  • Support pre-commissioning through megger testing, continuity verification, insulation resistance testing, and power-up checks for both electrical and instrumentation packages.
  • Identify and correct electrical and instrumentation issues in the field using diagnostic equipment such as multimeters and HART communicators.
  • Prepare accurate pre-commissioning records, calibration documentation, and punch list updates on time.
  • Follow permit-to-work controls, lockout/tagout procedures, and all project HSE requirements while performing site activities.

Requirements

  • Diploma or degree in Electrical, Instrumentation, or Electronics Engineering; a trade certification in E&I is also acceptable if backed by relevant experience.
  • 8 to 10 years of hands-on field experience as an E&I Technician on oil and gas, petrochemical, or industrial EPC projects.
  • Strong practical knowledge of instrument calibration, loop checking, and electrical testing methods.
  • Experience with equipment and systems integrated with Schneider Foxboro DCS and Triconex ESD is beneficial.
  • Working knowledge of ISA, IEC, and Saudi Aramco or ADNOC field installation standards.
  • A valid electrical or instrumentation certification that meets local regulatory requirements.

Technical Skills

  • Ability to calibrate all major categories of process instruments and issue calibration certificates.
  • Experience performing end-to-end loop checks for instruments tied into Schneider Foxboro DCS and Triconex ESD systems.
  • Capability in megger testing, continuity checks, high-potential testing, and relay testing for LV/MV electrical systems.
  • Skilled in using HART communicators such as Fisher ROC, AMS, or similar tools for smart instrument setup and troubleshooting.
  • Comfortable working from P&IDs, loop diagrams, hook-up drawings, cable schedules, and single-line diagrams.

Soft Skills

  • Consistent commitment to PTW procedures, LOTO protocols, and site safety standards.
  • High attention to detail when handling installation, testing, and documentation tasks.
  • Collaborative approach when working with technicians, supervisors, and commissioning engineers.
  • Clear communication with site supervisors and engineers about progress, faults, and pending items.
  • Adaptability to changing priorities and site conditions during construction and commissioning phases.
