Job description
Role Overview
This position sits within guest services operations at a hotel in Singapore and is focused on smooth front office handling, service recovery, and day-to-day coordination. It is a full-time, non-management role based onsite.
Core Duties
You will oversee guest arrivals and departures, making sure each check-in is completed accurately and efficiently. This includes confirming identity, processing payment, setting up guest folios, allocating rooms, activating keys, and ensuring rates and billing details are correct. You will also handle reward program details, review exceptions, prepare daily logs and reports, complete cashier and closing paperwork, and manage payment processing, bank counts, receipts, and authorizations.
The role also involves answering guest questions, sharing property and local information, handling requests through the right internal teams, and following up until issues are resolved. If theft is reported, the matter must be escalated to Security/Loss Prevention as required.
Leadership and Service Expectations
You will support supervisors and management by helping train, coach, evaluate, and motivate team members. As a visible point of contact, you are expected to promote fair treatment, maintain positive workplace relationships, respond constructively to employee concerns, and help the team work toward shared goals.
Guest service is a major part of the role: greeting guests warmly, recognizing needs in advance, assisting guests with disabilities, responding professionally, and communicating clearly in both spoken and written form. Accuracy, confidentiality, professionalism, and protection of company assets are essential.
Work Standards and Physical Requirements
You must follow company procedures, complete required safety training and certifications, maintain a neat and professional appearance, and report accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions promptly. The position requires regular use of computers and POS systems, and the ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods. You should also be able to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place items weighing up to 10 pounds without assistance.
Qualifications
The preferred background includes a high school diploma or GED, at least 1 year of relevant work experience, and at least 1 year of supervisory experience. No license or certification is required.
