Job description
Role overview
This is a full-time permanent opportunity for a Drawing Office Manager / Co-ordinator with a business operating in the construction and manufacturing space. The role sits at the centre of the drawing office and engineering function, making sure technical drawings are controlled, revised accurately, and distributed to the right people at the right time for production and site activity.
You will be the main link between design, production, quality, and project teams, helping to keep drawing information current and making sure approved documents are available before manufacturing begins.
What the role offers
- Permanent, full-time employment.
- The chance to join an established organisation that is continuing to grow.
- A supportive, team-oriented workplace.
- On-site parking.
- A competitive salary based on relevant experience.
Core duties
The position involves managing drawing schedules and issue dates across several live projects, producing weekly performance updates for the drawing office, and tracking progress against deadlines.
You will follow up on general arrangement drawing comments and approvals from architects and engineers, ensure feedback is reflected in revised drawings, and circulate updated versions without delay.
Additional duties include maintaining drawing registers, revision logs, and document control systems; coordinating technical drawings between drawing office, engineering, production, and quality teams; and keeping architects, engineers, consultants, and project managers informed so approvals are secured on time.
The role also includes issuing shop drawings, reinforcement drawings, and fabrication details, preparing drawing packs for manufacturing and site installation, and checking that production teams receive the latest approved documentation before work starts.
In addition, you will monitor drawing status stages such as Issued for Approval, Approved, Issued for Construction, and subsequent revisions, while keeping electronic drawing files and databases organised and up to date.
Candidate profile
The ideal applicant will have a solid grasp of technical documentation, including general arrangement drawings, reinforcement drawings, and other construction-related records. Experience with drawing registers, revision control, and document management processes is important.
Familiarity with AutoCAD, Allplan, or similar drafting tools would be an advantage. Strong organisation, a sharp eye for detail, and the ability to juggle multiple priorities in a deadline-driven setting are essential.
Good communication skills are needed to work effectively with colleagues across different disciplines, and confidence with Microsoft Office tools such as Excel, Word, and Outlook is expected.
Preferred background
Experience in precast concrete, reinforcement detailing, construction, manufacturing, or another technical environment is desirable. Prior work involving technical drawings, project documentation, or engineering administration would also be highly valuable.
Additional information
This opportunity is based in County Meath, Ireland. The role is onsite and offered on a full-time basis.
Interested candidates who are ready for a fast-moving engineering and construction environment are encouraged to apply or arrange a confidential discussion.
