Role Summary

This position is responsible for preparing accurate technical drawings for electrical and renewable energy projects using AutoCAD or MicroStation. The role is central to converting design concepts into detailed drawings that support smooth project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate technical drawings, schematics, and layouts for electrical works while following applicable standards and regulations.
• Develop solar PV design deliverables such as module layouts, string sizing, and electrical wiring diagrams.
• Work with design leads, engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders to ensure drawings match project needs and specifications.
• Produce layouts, circuit diagrams, sketches, and drawings for new installations and revised equipment requirements.
• Keep project records well-organized, including drawing revisions and as-built documentation.
• Support project teams and other departments with technical assistance whenever required.
• Recommend design changes that improve efficiency and reduce cost where possible.
• Detect and resolve drawing issues or inconsistencies in a timely, proactive manner.
• Keep current with relevant electrical design codes, standards, and solar PV best practices.

Requirements

• Completion of recognized advanced vocational or technical training from a reputable institution is required.
• A diploma or higher qualification in electrical engineering is preferred.
• Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD and MicroStation is essential.
• At least 2 to 5 years of drafting experience in electrical projects is required.
• Experience in renewable energy projects will be an added advantage.
• Ability to interpret client specifications accurately.
• Practical understanding of electrical and solar project workflows.
• Basic grounding in engineering concepts and principles.
• Fast and efficient drafting capability.
• Ability to identify corrections and update drawings accordingly.
• Comfort with working to deadlines.
