Job description
Role overview
This position is for a healthcare cleaner based at Churchill Hospital in Oxford. The role is focused on keeping patient, visitor, and staff areas clean, safe, and well maintained in a busy hospital environment.
Working pattern
This is a permanent full-time role offering 37.5 hours each week. The standard schedule runs Monday to Friday, 07:00 to 15:00.
Pay
The hourly rate for this position is £12.92.
Key duties
- Complete allocated cleaning tasks by following checklists and the guidance and training provided.
- Carry out both manual and mechanical cleaning work in line with the agreed schedule.
- Handle waste correctly by collecting, separating, and disposing of it, and by replacing liners in accordance with policy.
- Support urgent or unplanned cleaning requests whenever needed.
- Use the right equipment and personal protective equipment at all times, and report hazards, safety concerns, or incidents to the line manager.
Experience and language
Previous experience across different cleaning tasks is helpful, but it is not essential because full training will be provided. Candidates need enough English to understand instructions and communicate clearly with colleagues.
