A Dubai-based construction and contracting company is hiring a DM-approved Civil Engineer with G+1 classification to serve as the responsible technical engineer for villa and low-rise building projects. The role is based in Al Quoz, Dubai, and focuses on supervising site execution, ensuring compliance with Dubai Municipality rules, and coordinating all disciplines from mobilization through final handover.

Role responsibilities

You will be expected to oversee site operations, review technical submissions, manage authority coordination, and support project delivery on time and to standard. The position requires daily site presence and close involvement in construction activities across Dubai.

Site supervision and compliance

• Take charge as the accountable technical engineer for G+1 villa and building works.
• Monitor all construction activities on site to confirm alignment with approved drawings, specifications, and the Dubai Building Code.
• Ensure the project follows Dubai Municipality requirements, permit conditions, and health, safety, and environmental rules.

Technical review and coordination

• Assess and approve shop drawings, method statements, material submittals, and technical queries.
• Coordinate civil, architectural, structural, and MEP activities to reduce conflicts and avoid schedule delays.
• Troubleshoot site-level technical issues and provide workable engineering solutions during execution.

Quality, reporting, and documentation

• Track workmanship quality and make sure delivered work meets project and consultant expectations.
• Carry out regular inspections and prepare progress updates, snag lists, and handover records.
• Check quantities, measurements, and completed work for billing and interim certificates.
• Keep all project records, approvals, RFIs, and technical files organized and up to date.

Stakeholder and authority coordination

• Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and government authorities throughout the project.
• Handle Dubai Municipality submissions and respond to technical observations or comments from the authority.
• Attend inspections, testing, commissioning, and final handover activities.
• Manage schedules and monitor manpower productivity to support milestone delivery.

Required qualifications and experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized university.
• Valid Dubai Municipality G+1 Civil Engineer approval/registration and DM card are mandatory.
• Attested education and experience documents as required by Dubai Municipality.
• Solid understanding of Dubai Municipality regulations, Dubai Building Code, and construction standards.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD, MS Office, and project documentation.
• At least 2 years of relevant civil engineering experience is needed for entry-level DM engineer classification, subject to Dubai Municipality review and approval.
• Background in villa construction, building works, renovation, and fit-out projects is preferred.
• Understanding of coordination across structural, architectural, and MEP disciplines is essential.

• Strong communication and coordination ability when dealing with consultants, clients, and subcontractors.
• Capability to manage several site activities at once while working to deadlines.
• Detail-oriented with a practical, solution-focused approach.
• Willingness to work on site daily in Al Quoz and other Dubai locations.
