Job summary
In this role, you will coordinate driver dispatch activities, manage overflow situations, confirm driver hours-of-service compliance, and support yard operations. The position also involves directing trailer movements for shifters across the yard and during unload activities within the sort operation.
Responsibilities
- Assign loads to drivers across the national feeder network, taking into account service priority, transit time, and sort signals.
- Handle overflow coordination to keep freight movement running smoothly.
- Check and verify driver hours of service.
- Oversee yard control activities, including trailer movement assignments for shifters.
- Support trailer handling during unload and sort operations when multiple shifters are involved.
Requirements
- Practical experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook.
- Ability to enter data quickly and accurately.
