Job description
About the Company
Capricor Therapeutics is a biotechnology organization focused on developing advanced cell and exosome-based treatments for rare diseases. Its lead program, Deramiocel (CAP-1002), is in late-stage development for Duchenne muscular dystrophy. The company is also advancing its proprietary StealthX exosome platform for targeted delivery and vaccinology.
Role Overview
This senior leadership position will own the buildout and day-to-day running of the commercial operations engine supporting Capricor’s first product launch, Deramiocel. The role is responsible for creating the operational framework that enables a high-performing field team, data-driven commercial decisions, and scalable systems suited to a rare-disease advanced-therapy business.
The company is looking for a hands-on builder with strong commercial operations experience, leadership in rare disease or specialty product launches, and the ability to thrive in a fast-moving biotechnology environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Define the strategic direction and execution plan for Commercial Operations supporting the Deramiocel launch, including sales operations, analytics, forecasting, incentive compensation, territory design, CRM, and commercial systems.
- Build, coach, and lead a high-performing Commercial Operations function and operating model aligned to a lean launch-stage rare disease organization.
- Implement and manage the CRM environment, such as Veeva or Salesforce, covering configuration, targeting, call planning, sample management, and field reporting.
- Create the commercial data architecture, including warehouse and aggregator strategy (Databricks, Snowflake), dashboard solutions (Tableau, Power BI), and integration of claims, specialty pharmacy, HUB, patient services, and distribution data.
- Own forecasting, demand planning, quota setting, territory alignment, and incentive compensation design and administration.
- Set up data governance, master data management, and data quality standards across the commercial organization.
- Work closely with Market Access, Marketing, Medical Affairs, Finance, IT, Legal, and Compliance to align operations with business objectives and ensure compliant execution.
- Lead field force enablement efforts, including targeting, segmentation, call planning, field effectiveness analytics, and the operational components of commercial training.
- Develop KPI and reporting structures that provide the Commercial Leadership Team and executive leadership with timely visibility into launch progress.
- Evaluate, contract, and oversee commercial operations vendors and service partners, including quarterly business reviews, service-level management, and budget control.
- Carry out additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree is required; an MBA or another advanced degree is preferred.
- At least 12 years of experience in biopharmaceutical commercial operations, including 5 or more years in a leadership position and direct launch experience in rare disease, advanced therapy, or specialty products.
- Strong expertise in sales operations, forecasting, incentive compensation, territory alignment, CRM deployment, and commercial data strategy across claims, specialty pharmacy, HUB, and distribution data.
- Proven executive leadership with the ability to build commercial infrastructure from scratch, lead cross-functional initiatives, and manage strategic vendor partnerships.
- Ability to convert commercial strategy into durable systems, processes, and analytics that improve field execution and support disciplined decision-making.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
- Work may be performed in a professional office setting or remotely.
- Occasional travel is required for cross-functional planning meetings and vendor interactions.
- The role requires the ability to balance multiple priorities in a changing launch environment.
- Extended computer-based work is expected, including video meetings and use of collaboration tools.
- Domestic travel may be needed approximately 10% to 15% of the time for team meetings, vendor visits, and industry conferences.
