Director of Technology & Information Security

Position overview

Chapa-De Indian Health is seeking a Director of Technology & Information Security to provide enterprise-level technology leadership, guide cybersecurity and risk management efforts, and deliver innovative systems that support patients, providers, and the broader community. This role combines strategic planning, operational oversight, and team leadership in a healthcare environment.

The position is based in Grass Valley, CA and is a full-time onsite opportunity.

Compensation

The annual salary for this role is $176,300 to $213,300.

Key responsibilities

The director will set and carry out the organization’s technology roadmap, strengthen information security and governance, manage external technology partners, and lead teams toward reliable, secure, and high-performing service delivery.

• Build and execute an enterprise technology strategy that supports infrastructure, clinical systems, digital initiatives, and organizational and patient-care objectives.
• Oversee the information security and risk management function, with attention to HIPAA compliance, data governance, cybersecurity controls, and tribal data sovereignty requirements.
• Direct technology operations, vendor relationships, and managed service providers to maintain dependable and secure systems for staff and patients.
• Lead, coach, and motivate technology teams while encouraging innovation, teamwork, and ongoing process improvement.

Qualifications

• 8 to 10 years of progressively responsible IT leadership experience in a healthcare environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in health care administration, business, information technology, cybersecurity, or a related discipline.
• Demonstrated ability to design and implement security solutions and best practices in healthcare.
• Hands-on experience with EHR administration, regulatory oversight, information security management, voice/telecommunications, and IT operations.
• Proven background in building or advancing a data governance program in healthcare.
