Job description

The opportunity

This position is about shaping how major New Zealand brands evolve digitally. You will guide end-to-end digital transformation, not only media planning, and act as the strategic owner of future-facing digital direction. The role combines leadership, client influence, talent development, and commercial impact.

What you'll do

  • Take ownership of digital strategy and transformation initiatives across priority client accounts.
  • Support the growth of emerging digital talent in New Zealand.
  • Act as a dependable strategic partner for clients navigating a complex digital and media environment.
  • Spot new opportunities and work closely with internal specialist teams to help deliver them.
  • Contribute to strengthening the organisation's digital capabilities and its position in data-led transformation.

What you bring

  • At least 7 years of experience building advanced digital strategies, with a background in media planning and buying.
  • A solid grasp of the full digital ecosystem, including programmatic, SEM, SEO, social, CRM, attribution modelling, and privacy-first measurement.
  • Evidence of growing business through new wins or deeper client relationships powered by digital expertise.
  • Confidence to mentor, influence, challenge ideas, and raise the standard of digital capability.

Why join OMD

The role sits within a business that is investing heavily in digital capability, tools, technology, infrastructure, and people. It offers real autonomy, strong client relationships, and the chance to work in an environment that values leadership and innovation. The organisation also highlights its commitment to diversity and inclusion in New Zealand.

Perks and benefits

  • Autonomy to lead strategy and make decisions rather than simply manage tasks.
  • Opportunity to work with clients that value digital maturity and strategic guidance.
  • Summer Fridays, birthday leave, and a gifted day.
  • Annual wellbeing allowance of $200, plus complimentary breakfast and coffee.
  • Access to development programmes and sports teams.
  • Direct access to publishers and partners, including early opportunities, thought leadership, and events.
