Job description

About the Company

Armadillo is a purpose-led Australian business founded in 2009, known for creating rugs that are made with sustainability, transparency and long-lasting quality in mind. The company operates showrooms in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco and Dallas. Its rugs are handcrafted in India and Nepal using natural materials and energy-efficient processes, supporting a slower, more responsible alternative to disposable consumption. Armadillo is also a certified B Corp, reflecting its commitment to social responsibility and high ethical standards.

About the Role

This full-time permanent position is focused on elevating Armadillo’s digital presence through brand-led storytelling. The role sits within the global marketing team and is responsible for shaping day-to-day communication across social media, EDMs and the website in order to build engagement and strengthen brand desirability. It calls for someone with a refined visual eye, strong communication skills and a solid understanding of how to build a brand across multiple digital touchpoints.

Key Responsibilities

You will work closely with brand, creative, digital/ecommerce and local market teams to deliver cohesive and polished communications across channels.

  • Plan, coordinate and produce digital content across Armadillo’s platforms, working with internal stakeholders and external partners where needed.
  • Own the digital communications calendar and ensure content is delivered on time with a consistent narrative across all channels.
  • Select, shape and publish social content that aligns with brand standards and maintains quality and consistency.
  • Support community management by monitoring and responding to comments, messages and engagement activity.
  • Oversee journal and content workflows, including ideation, build, scheduling and publishing.
  • Use tailored content and optimisation approaches to grow audience reach and deepen engagement on key digital channels.
  • Build strong working relationships with cross-functional teams, external collaborators and internal creatives.
  • Partner with regional marketing leads to support campaign delivery and outcomes.
  • Maintain a consistent global brand presence while adapting to local market needs where appropriate.
  • Support the production of creative assets in line with the marketing calendar.
  • Assist with photoshoots, events and content production, including pre-production and occasional on-site support.
  • Identify ways to improve content operations, scheduling workflows and overall efficiency.
  • Measure performance across channels using analytics tools and connect engagement results to business objectives.
  • Prepare monthly, campaign-based and event-based reports using available data platforms and tools.
  • Review social and digital metrics and recommend improvements and optimisation opportunities.
  • Prepare ad hoc reports and presentations as required.
  • Assess digital and cultural trends through the brand’s lens and identify relevant opportunities for use.

What We’re Looking For

Armadillo is seeking a highly organised communications professional who can use storytelling to strengthen brand appeal and create an engaging digital experience. The ideal person is collaborative, strategic and comfortable working in a warm, energetic and fast-moving environment.

  • Strong visual judgment and exceptional attention to detail across social and digital campaigns.
  • Ability to create content that captures attention and inspires customers.
  • Comfort working in a supportive, collegial and collaborative team culture.
  • Excellent planning habits and the ability to manage weekly priorities deliberately and effectively.
  • Resilience and a positive response to setbacks and challenging moments.
  • Quick thinking, problem-solving ability and confidence under pressure.
  • Self-motivation and a clear focus on achieving goals.
  • Experience in digital communications and social media, ideally within R&D, design, interiors, home décor or textiles.
  • Strong organisational capability and attention to detail.
  • Confidence managing content schedules, communications calendars, approval workflows and digital task trackers.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills, with the ability to influence clients who may have varying levels of familiarity with the brand.
  • Proficiency with digital communication software.
