Role Overview
The company is hiring for several roles at its Hamburg, Bremen, and Stade sites. For Hamburg or Bremen, the team is seeking a Design Engineer Shipbuilding / Mechanical Design Engineer (m/f/d) in a hybrid working model.
Key Responsibilities
The position involves creating and updating 3D models and 2D drawings, developing assemblies, foundations, deck equipment, hull structures, and technical spaces, and maintaining bills of materials, piping lists, and related technical records. The role also includes producing general arrangements and detailed designs, generating CAM data, isometric drawings, and P&ID documentation, and designing integration, installation, lifting, and transport concepts.
In addition, the engineer will coordinate technical topics with customers, suppliers, and internal teams, prepare design review reports and punch lists, support as-built and handover documentation, and assist during factory acceptance tests and commissioning.
Requirements
A university degree in Mechanical Engineering, Naval Architecture, or a similar discipline is required. Candidates should bring experience in mechanical design and systems integration, along with familiarity with Siemens NX, Teamcenter, or similar CAD/PLM tools. Knowledge of applicable standards and regulations such as DIN, ISO, and EN is expected.
The role also calls for experience handling technical specifications and change management, a structured and independent working style, fluent business-level English, and German language skills as a plus.
