Job description

Role overview

A well-established Irish manufacturer is looking for a Drawing Office Manager / Coordinator to join its growing team in County Meath / Kildare. This permanent position carries responsibility for managing engineering drawings, tracking revisions, and keeping design, production, and quality functions aligned.

The role also involves coordinating drawing-related information across teams, maintaining accurate records, and helping ensure that the latest approved documentation is always available before production begins.

What you will do

  • Plan drawing issue dates and manage the schedule for projects.
  • Prepare and circulate weekly performance updates for the drawing office, covering progress across active jobs.
  • Keep track of drawing status and chase updates to prevent avoidable delays.
  • Follow up on GA drawing feedback and approvals from architects and engineers, then ensure revisions are updated and reissued correctly.
  • Maintain drawing logs, registers, and revision histories.
  • Coordinate the movement of drawings between the drawing office, engineering, and production teams.
  • Support the release of shop drawings, reinforcement drawings, and fabrication details.
  • Confirm that production teams are working from the most recent approved drawings before manufacturing starts.
  • Help prepare drawing packages for manufacturing and site installation.
  • Assist with document control processes for technical drawings and related project files.
  • Keep drawing databases and electronic filing systems organised and up to date.
  • Help check that reinforcement schedules and components align with production needs.
  • Support coordination across design, reinforcement yard, mould preparation, and production planning.

What the employer is looking for

  • Hands-on experience with technical drawings, GA drawings, reinforcement drawings, and construction documentation.
  • Working knowledge of drawing packages such as Allplan, AutoCAD, or comparable software.
  • Understanding of drawing approval workflows and revision management.
  • Strong organisation skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage several priorities while meeting deadlines.
  • Clear communication skills for dealing with architects, engineers, and internal colleagues.
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office.
  • Previous exposure to precast, reinforcement detailing, manufacturing, or construction would be an advantage.
