Job description
Role overview
The Delivery Technician I supports patients, families, caregivers, and healthcare/home medical equipment teams by delivering professional home medical equipment services. The role focuses on setting up equipment, giving first-time instructions, and collecting equipment when needed.

Key duties
- Transport, install, and retrieve durable medical equipment, oxygen equipment, and related supplies for home care patients and commercial clients while following company procedures.
- Explain equipment use clearly so patients and clients can operate it correctly.
- Evaluate home safety, ease of access, and the patient/customer’s condition and needs, and update the supervisor or Quality team if circumstances change.
- Work with the dispatch team to plan the most efficient delivery schedule and route.
- Drive safely and maintain proper care of the vehicle and equipment during deliveries and pickups.
- Follow road safety, site safety, and infection control practices at all times.
- Handle patient interactions with professionalism, kindness, and empathy.
- Take part in a rotating on-call schedule and respond to concerns or questions within company rules.
- Complete any additional tasks assigned by management.
Requirements and qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Current driver’s license with no major DMV infractions in the past 3 years.
- Prior delivery experience is preferred.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DOT medical card.
- Strong communication and customer service abilities.
- Well organized with strong attention to detail.
- Comfortable using a tablet or iPad to work with internal systems and applications.
- Basic math skills.
