Role overview
Tesla is hiring a motivated Data Engineering Working Student to support the Data Engineering and Analytics team at Gigafactory Berlin-Brandenburg. The team is building a modern analytics environment for business and operational intelligence, helping internal users turn large-scale data into practical decisions. The platform is designed to answer questions about what happened, when it happened, how it happened, and what could happen next.
In this position, you will contribute to the design, development, maintenance, and support of the Enterprise Data Warehouse and BI platform. It is a chance to make a real impact across the organization by helping strengthen a data-driven way of working.

Key responsibilities
- Work with data engineers, analysts, and other stakeholders to understand business needs, both functional and non-functional.
- Partner closely with engineers and product managers to build and roll out data pipelines and features for data and AI products.
- Collect data from primary and secondary sources while keeping databases and data systems up to date.
- Inspect reports and performance indicators to find, clean, and correct data issues.
- Contribute to the development, enhancement, and upkeep of core platform functionality.
- Take part in architectural decisions with an emphasis on security, scalability, and strong performance.
- Help raise and refine standards and working methods to support the highest possible data quality.
Requirements
- Enrollment in a BSc or MSc program in Data Science, Computer Science, or a similar discipline.
- Solid understanding of data engineering basics, including databases, data processing, data pipeline design, and data quality assurance.
- Strong SQL skills and a good grasp of database concepts.
- Confident programming ability in Python.
- Hands-on experience with Apache Airflow, Flask, or Next.js is an advantage.
- Familiarity with common CI/CD tools and modern delivery practices.
- A natural curiosity and interest in how products are designed, built, and operated.
