Data Center Security Specialist, Infrastructure Physical Security

Role overview

AWS Infrastructure Services is responsible for designing, planning, delivering, and operating the global infrastructure that keeps AWS running. This includes the data centers and the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling systems that support continuous customer access to AWS services.

You will be part of a broad, cross-functional environment that includes software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain professionals, security specialists, and operations leaders. The role sits within AWS Infrastructure Physical Security and focuses on maintaining high standards of physical security across data center facilities.

This opportunity is open to UAE nationals holding a family book. AWS notes its commitment to supporting the UAE’s goal of employing 75,000 Emiratis in the private sector, in line with Ministerial Resolution No. 279.

What you will do

In this position, you will help strengthen operational security in a control-room environment or across multiple facilities within short driving distance of one another. Your work will support early identification of physical security risks and help drive remediation efforts.

You will coordinate with security vendors involved in guard services, electronic security systems, construction and repair activities, routine operations, patrols, and planning. You will also review available data to identify trends, measure improvements, and recommend better security systems and design approaches. In addition, you will lead security awareness training for data center occupants and prepare procedures, reports, presentations, and leadership updates on physical security operations.

Key responsibilities

• Support day-to-day security operations across multiple facilities as part of a wider security operations team.
• Run awareness initiatives that improve vigilance and strengthen security performance.
• Use workflow ticketing tools and help build or analyze performance metrics.
• Lead investigations related to security incidents across campus facilities.
• Manage vendors responsible for guards, access control, fencing, electronic security systems, and door installation or repair.
• Translate security strategy into practical daily actions that support management objectives.
• Monitor and coordinate security-related construction projects.
• Deliver security awareness training for data center staff.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience with CCTV, access control systems, and intrusion detection systems.
• Fluency in English, including speaking, reading, and writing.
• At least 1 year of experience overseeing security operations.
• Ability to collect, analyze, and use data to improve processes and systems.
• Preferred: ASIS/CSMP certification or an equivalent credential.
• Experience working in critical infrastructure installations is relevant to the role.
