Role overview

This position focuses on supporting Consumer Banking Singapore through data platform development, analysis, reporting, and decision support. The role combines hands-on analytics with datamart maintenance, dashboarding, and business collaboration in a banking environment.

Datamart design and maintenance

  • Develop, enhance, and support the Consumer Banking Singapore datamart while maintaining data quality, consistency, and availability.
  • Prepare and maintain data catalog documentation for convenient reference.
  • Contribute to process streamlining, automation, and datamart architecture design.

Data analysis and insight generation

  • Extract, cleanse, and analyze data to produce actionable business insights.
  • Spot trends and patterns in data to support strategic and operational decisions.
  • Prepare recurring and ad-hoc reports on performance measures and business results.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to understand data needs and provide analytical support.

Management reporting and dashboarding

  • Build and update dashboards that track KPIs and other business metrics.
  • Improve reporting workflows through automation for better speed and accuracy.
  • Produce management reports that summarize performance trends and outcomes.

Decision support and stakeholder collaboration

  • Partner with stakeholders to understand business questions and deliver tailored analysis.
  • Assist in shaping data-backed business cases for strategic initiatives.
  • Translate analytical findings into practical recommendations that aid decision-making.
  • Help improve data processes and reporting frameworks over time.

Innovation and industry awareness

  • Keep up with trends, best practices, and regulatory developments in banking and wealth management to identify improvement opportunities and competitive advantages.

Requirements and qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Data Analytics, Business Analytics, Statistics, or a related discipline; a master’s degree is preferred.
  • At least 3 years of experience in data analytics.
  • Strong working knowledge of analytics tools such as SQL, Python, and R, along with visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI.
  • Solid understanding of the banking sector, especially consumer banking/business.
  • Ability to collaborate across teams and manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment.
  • Familiarity with regulatory expectations and compliance standards in banking is an advantage.
  • Strong communication and presentation ability for explaining complex insights to non-technical audiences.

Technical competencies

  • SAS, SQL, Python, R, and MS Excel proficiency.
  • Experience with business intelligence and dashboarding tools, especially Tableau.
  • Strong problem-solving ability with a focus on speed and efficiency.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
