Role overview
The Data Analyst I supports emergency medicine data operations by applying strong data management practices that improve data quality, reduce cleaning effort, and produce analysis-ready databases within set project deadlines.
Core responsibilities
- Create and maintain customized applications that support data entry, database administration, and reporting requirements.
- Help build data management plans and working guidelines that promote accurate, timely, and high-quality data while supporting quality control processes.
- Work through data management problems that emerge during research study execution and help put practical fixes in place.
- Support staff with technical questions related to electronic and remote recordkeeping tools, and provide training that strengthens the quality of collected data.
- Assist medical students, interns, residents, and program faculty with data queries and statistical analysis tasks.
- Stay current on relevant regulations, tools, and technologies connected to data management.
- Contribute to writing manuscripts and preparing other materials for both internal and external audiences when needed.
- Carry out additional related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in computer science, statistics, or a related discipline is required; an equivalent mix of education and work experience may also be considered.
- A master’s degree in a relevant field is preferred.
- Two to three years of experience in database application or database management, ideally within a large medical center or healthcare setting.
Technical skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
- Working knowledge of R
- SQL knowledge preferred
- REDCap experience preferred

Compensation
The posted annual pay range for this role is $66,482.07 to $74,250. This range is provided in compliance with New York City salary transparency requirements. Final compensation may vary based on experience, education, and operational needs, and it does not include bonuses, incentive pay, differentials, or other compensation and benefits.
