Role overview
U-Haul is looking for approachable, energetic individuals to join its team as Customer Service Representatives in Sidney, British Columbia, Canada. In this role, you will represent the company’s customer experience and support people with their rental and equipment needs while working closely with a team in a hands-on environment. The company also provides practical training on the job.
What the role involves
- Support customers both inside and outside the U-Haul location with products and services.
- Use smartphone-based U-Scan tools to handle rentals and track inventory.
- Move, connect, and manage U-Haul trucks and trailers.
- Clean, inspect, and check equipment on the lot, including fluid levels.
- Respond to customer questions and explain available products and services.
- Create rental invoices and receive returned equipment.
- Install hitches and trailer wiring.
- Fill propane; certification for this is provided after hiring.
- Operate a forklift; certification for this is provided after hiring.
- Carry out additional tasks as assigned.
- Take part in ongoing learning through U-Haul University.
Training, pay, and joining bonuses
The company follows a “Hire Fast, Pay Fast” approach, allowing candidates to begin working and receiving pay right away. A hands-on working interview is available and is paid. The role includes a $100 hiring bonus, plus a $300 cash bonus paid immediately after completing U-Haul Equipment Inspection and Verification through the 1-2-3 Punch Certification Program at retail stores.

Minimum qualifications
- A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- High school diploma or an equivalent credential.
Work conditions
This job involves moderate safety-related risks and some discomforts, so special precautions may be required. You may work near moving parts or machinery and around fumes or irritating chemicals. Protective gear such as masks, goggles, gloves, or shields may also be needed.
Physical requirements
The position can involve extended periods of standing still, moving indoors and outdoors, reaching items at different heights, and handling equipment that weighs at least 50 lbs, either with assistance or on your own.
