Job description
Role overview
This position sits on the shop floor and is focused on giving every customer a smooth, positive experience. The role suits someone who enjoys a busy retail setting, learns quickly, and is comfortable working across different tasks and shift times.
This is a standard 30-hour contract, with earnings of €460+ per week. Because the role includes selling alcohol, applicants must be 18 years of age or older.
Shift patterns
- Morning shift: Starts at 5am or 6am and involves working with the team to replenish stock, prepare bakery items, and get the store ready for opening.
- Middle shift: Begins in the late morning or early afternoon and includes keeping the store clean and well presented, helping customers on the shop floor, and supporting tills to reduce queue times.
- Late shift: Starts in the afternoon and focuses on delivering great service at the tills, replenishing missing stock, and preparing the store for the following day.
Key duties
- Greet and assist customers in a courteous, approachable, and supportive way.
- Follow stock-loss prevention procedures throughout the store.
- Keep the shop floor and outside areas clean and hygienic.
- Apply freshness, rotation, and stock handling standards correctly.
- Ensure waste is sorted and disposed of properly.
- Take part in stock counting activities.

Pay and benefits
The employer uses a transparent pay structure designed to support equal pay across roles. Hourly earnings start at €15.40 and rise to €17.90 after 3 years, with additional payments for certain hours and occasions.
- Unsocial hours are paid for work completed between 12am and 7am.

Pay progression
- Year 1: Basic rate €15.40; unsocial hours €19.25; overtime/Sundays €23.10; bank holiday €30.80.
- Year 2: Basic rate €16.20; unsocial hours €20.25; overtime/Sundays €24.30; bank holiday €32.40.
- Year 3: Basic rate €16.90; unsocial hours €21.13; overtime/Sundays €25.35; bank holiday €33.80.
- Year 4: Basic rate €17.90; unsocial hours €22.38; overtime/Sundays €26.85; bank holiday €35.80.
